What People Are Saying

Get Started

Personal F.A.Q.

There are several questions that I am often asked in interviews, conversations, and by people that I meet. You can find a selection of them and my answers here. And by all means, if you have some curiosities of your own, don’t hesitate to reach out and ask!

Where are you from?

I am originally from a small family farm in central Illinois (we raised sheep and field crops like corn, soy, and wheat). From Illinois, I moved to Iowa, then Israel, then New York—where I have been ever since (first living in New York City and then Buffalo).

What about hobbies?

I have got a wide range of things that I enjoy doing. I love gardening (and often take client appointments in the garden, weather permitting), going to the gym (5-6 days a week), figure skating (I spent a good deal of my childhood in an ice rink and still love it to this day), hiking, reading (my home looks like a library), and travel (20 countries and counting).

Why do you do what you do?

I am an only child and an introvert. My inner life has long been vast and filled with exploration. In looking back, I recognize that a good many years of my early life could be characterized by self-centeredness—thankfully not in a way that was malicious. Rather, I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I just didn’t understand my place in the world nor did I have the perspective to see life clearly. Nevertheless, I, like most people, always did the best I could. As I grew up, I took a lot of hits and learned a great many lessons the hard way.

Figure skating taught me how to get up once I’d fallen down—literally. With a little help of my grandmother’s wisdom, it also taught me how to get back up figuratively as well. Each fall in life that I’ve taken has offered me softening, learning, and perspective. And the hardworking drive gifted to me by my family’s farm has ever propelled me forward. As I aged and grew, I explored life and all it contains. I questioned and experienced and kept stumbling my way through—all the while earning degrees and learning volumes. Over time, I began to slowly uncover my purpose, which is simply to help. I work to help by cultivating wisdom and making life as beautiful as possible for both myself and others. And that is why I do what I do.

What brings you peace?

I find peace in many places. I find it in the comfort of love; in the quiet stillness only nature can provide; in the gentle remembrance of warm moments long since passed; in tasty, satisfying, delicious foods; in cosy, lazy mornings; in the reading of artful, well-crafted words; and in providing care to my clients. I am sure that there are other things that bring me peace as well. I think that one of the goals of living is to constantly be on the look out for things that bring peace to oneself.
